The 2026 Gold Sovereign from The Royal Mint marked the return of the bullion Sovereign to classic yellow gold after decades of reddish crown gold. It is struck in 22 carat gold (916.7), weighs 7.988 g and contains 7.32 g of fine gold. For the first time the bullion Sovereign carries three security features: a latent image beneath the portrait of King Charles III, a half-tone pattern and the micro-text "HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE" around St George and the dragon.
The 2026 Sovereign is sold out. Its successor, the 2027 Gold Sovereign, is in stock with the same yellow gold and security features.
