The Smallest Silver Britannia – 1/10 oz, 2027 Anniversary Edition

With 3.11 g of 999 fine silver, a diameter of 16.50 mm and a face value of 20p, the 1/10 oz is the smallest of the 2027 silver Britannias issued by The Royal Mint. It carries the same one-off '30' wave privy mark and anniversary background texture as the larger silver coins of the year, commemorating 30 years of the silver Britannia.

The reverse shows Philip Nathan's standing Britannia with shield, olive branch and trident – a figure that has been a continuous presence on British coins since the reign of Charles II. The obverse bears the coinage portrait of King Charles III by Martin Jennings.

Security features at 16.50 mm

The four visual security features added in 2021 appear on the 1/10 oz just as on the 1 oz coin: latent image, micro-text, tincture lines and surface animation. Ten 1/10 oz coins hold the 31.1035 g of fine silver of one 1 oz Britannia (38.61 mm). In diameter, the coin matches the 2027 gold Britannia 1/10 oz at 16.50 mm, while differing in metal, fineness (999 versus 999.9), face value (20p versus £10) and privy mark ('30' versus '40').
