Yale of Beaufort Tudor Beast 1/4 oz gold 2023

As the world tries to come to terms with the loss of the greatest Monarch Queen Elizabeth II, it is now your opportunity to pay tribute to her Majesty by acquiring this beautiful Yale of Beaufort Tudor Beast 1/4 oz gold 2023.

The obverse of the coin depicts Queen Elizabeth II, aged 89. Her Majesty is shown here in right-profile relief wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown. This portrait was created for the Royal Mint in 2015 by Jody Clark and is the fifth-generation effigy of the Queen on British coins. We now know that it will be the last which makes this coin even more precious.

Clark and the Royal Mint wanted the coins to tell the story of Her Majesty’s growing stature and maturity and paint a compelling picture of the story of her reign. Clark has certainly achieved his goal as the drawing really shows the qualities of Her Majesty: dignity, courage, sense of duty but also a profound humanity and empathy.

The reverse of the coin is not short of amazing too. It features the Yale of Beaufort, one of the most distinctive and astonishing mythical creatures.

The inspiration for the design created by David Lawrence comes from the statue of the Yale which lines the Moat Bridge of Hampton Court Palace, (alongside the other 9 statues the Seymour Panther, the Bull of Clarence, the Tudor Dragon, the Greyhound of Richmond, the Royal Dragon, the Lion of England, the Seymour Unicorn, the Queen’s Panther and the Queen’s Lion). The beasts symbolise the legitimacy of the king’s rule by portraying his regal ancestry and are the protectors who guard Hampton Court Palace.

The Yale is very similar to a goat but has the tusks of a wild boar and the tail of a lion. Here, the peculiar creature bears the shield with the arms of Jane Seymour, Henry VIII’s third wife.

Each coin contains one troy ounce of pure 999.9 gold and a chainmail surface animation background texture provides additional security. As with other coins from The Royal Mint, it is considered legal tender and is therefore exempt from Capital Gains Tax

But beside the fact that it is a fantastic investment, it will also have a special place in your collection, an homage to the amazing human being that was Queen Elizabeth II.
