This coin is a true innovation in the best sense of the word. It is the result of the first coin designed jointly by the British Royal Mint and the United States Mint. Here you can see the result of two engravers, namely a two-part design that depicts the respective national symbols and thus congenially unites them: the English Britannia and the American Lady Liberty. This makes an impressive statement that succinctly expresses the long-lasting and special links between the United Kingdom and the USA. The special nature of this issue is probably also underlined by the worldwide limitation of the mintage to 11,000 pieces.

Obverse

It shows you the head of the Roman deity and the very personification of England - "Britannia" - armed with a helmet under which her flowing hair can be seen and a trident. Symmetrically, but mirror-inverted, you can see "Lady Liberty", the well-known American symbol of freedom, also depicted in side profile like Britannia, holding a torch. She represents a sign of "enlightenment" and stands for "enlightenment". The two striking and detailed figures are framed by the following lettering: "BRITANNIA AND LIBERTY", "2024, 1OZ, 999.9 FINE GOLD".

Reverse

You can see the likeness of the new British King Charles III, who, unlike his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, is looking to the left. The fluted coin is framed on this side by the words: "CHARLES III D G REX F D 100 POUNDS". The letters stand for the Latin words: "Dei Gratia Rex, Fidei Defensor". In German, this means: "King by the grace of God, defender of the faith." The fineness of this coin is 31.1035g.
