Kilogram
A kilogram or kilogramme is a unit of 'mass', a term that refers to the heaviness or weight of an item. One kilogram is the equivalent of one thousand grams or 2.204 Imperial Pounds. It's the basic SI (Standard International) unit of mass in the Metric System and is based on the international prototype, a 1kg platinum-iridium cylinder that is stored at the International Bureau of Weights & Measures laboratory in Sèvres, France.
The word kilogramme or kilogram is of French origin and is derived from the Greek 'kilo' meaning a thousand and the Latin term 'gramma' for a small weight. Our gold kilo bars weigh exactly 1,000 grams and the internationally accepted measure makes them ideal for investors.
