Commemoratives
Commemoratives are coins that were issued to mark a significant event or occasion. Most of the world commemorative coins available today have been issued since the 1960s although there are many good examples of earlier commemoratives such as the Austrian Gold Corona that was issued from 1916 to mark the death of Emperor Franz Josef I.
Collectors can choose from a massive selection of post-1960s commemoratives including the gold and silver German Euro coins that marked the country's transition from Deutschmark to Euro in 2002 or the 2017 American Liberty 225th Anniversary Gold Coin from the United States Mint.
