Scottsdale Mint

Nestled in the heat of the Sonoran Desert in the American Southwest, the city of Scottsdale, Arizona - with a population of around 200,000 - is home to one of the most creative private mints in the world: the Scottsdale Mint. The mint has gained international recognition for its innovative designs and high-quality bullion and numismatic issues.

While Arizona’s mining history dates back to the discovery of silver deposits in 1583, it wasn’t until the U.S. acquisition of the territory in 1853 that a prolonged silver boom began - lasting nearly 40 years before fading with the decline of the silver dollar. Today, most of the region’s mines focus on copper, but Scottsdale Mint has embraced silver and built a niche in the global market by producing imaginative and artistically striking coin series.

Some of the Mint’s best-known releases include the Biblical Coin Series, the Silverback Gorilla, and the Fiji Iguanas. With each new release, Scottsdale Mint continues to surprise collectors with original motifs, limited editions, and innovative minting techniques - blending modern design with historical and cultural themes.
