Nickel Silver

Nickel silver, also known as German silver, is not a precious metal and contains no actual silver. It is an alloy composed primarily of copper, with the addition of nickel and zinc. The name refers solely to its silvery appearance, not its composition.

Nickel silver is widely used in the manufacturing of cutlery, musical instruments, medals, and decorative items. In numismatics, it has occasionally been used for low-denomination coins or commemorative medals, especially where a silver-like appearance is desired without the high material cost. Due to its non-precious nature, it is not accepted in bullion markets and plays no role in physical precious metal investment.
