The 1 oz Gold American Eagle celebrates its 35^th anniversary in 2021 and in order to commemorate this occasion, the US Mint has made changes to this iconic coin. The new reverse design features a close-up of the majestic American Eagle, signifying America’s long-held devotion to independence. The obverse depicts an unchanged Lady Liberty with an updated torch and Capitol Building in the background.

The American Eagle is the largest of the US Mint’s gold coins with its large surface area allowing collectors to fully appreciate and enjoy the beautiful design details.
