Obverse

Once again, the traditional mint "The Perth Mint" has created this colorful depiction of the important animal in the Chinese horoscope, the "Dragon." In China, the dragon represents benevolence, power, goal-orientation, and optimism. It is also a symbol of sharp intellect.

Vibrantly colored, the dragon on the reeded-edge coin almost seems to leap out at the viewer. At the bottom edge, you can see the Chinese character for "Dragon," followed by the English word "DRAGON" and the year "2024." Next to the Chinese character, you’ll find "P125," commemorating the 125th anniversary of The Perth Mint.

Reverse

The reverse features the world-renowned portrait of the late British Queen Elizabeth II, looking to the right, adorned with a crown, earrings, and necklace. This likeness was created by British engraver Jody Clark of The Royal Mint, whose initials can be found on the left shoulder of the Queen. Encircling the portrait, you can read "ELIZABETH II., 1952-2022," marking the span of her reign. This is followed by "AUSTRALIA," "1 oz 9999 Ag," and the coin’s denomination of "1 DOLLAR."

This impressively designed coin is strictly limited to 200,000 pieces and has a fine weight of 31.1035g.

About the Renowned Australian Mint "The Perth Mint"

As Australia is part of the Commonwealth, this mint is essentially the English "branch" of the "Royal Mint" and is owned by the "Gold Corporation," a state-owned Australian precious metals enterprise. Founded in 1899, it is the oldest mint in Australia. Located in Western Australia’s Perth, it currently produces various products—mainly bullion coins—made of precious metals such as gold, silver, platinum, and palladium.
