Valcambi was founded in 1961 by Swiss private investors under the name ‘Valori & Valcambi’. The main owners included the Swiss bank Credit Suisse and the US mining company Newmont Mining. Based on the amount of precious metal mined, Valcambi is the largest refinery in the world.
Valcambi produces up to 2,000 tonnes of precious metal annually. The company is based in Balerna in the south-east of Switzerland. Valcambi's main areas of business include refining, testing, transporting and storing precious metals, and finally, manufacturing precious metal bars such as silver, platinum and palladium.

The front of the palladium bar features the precise weight of ‘100 g’, the type of precious metal ‘palladium’ and the fineness ‘999.5’. In addition, you can discover the serial number, consisting of two letters and six digits, and the rectangular Valcambi logo.
At the bottom of the palladium bar is the LBMA manufacturer's marking ‘CHI ESSAYEUR FONDEUR’, which certifies high quality. You will receive the palladium bar from your StoneX Bullion shop in a plastic blister pack containing a dark brown certificate. The name of the manufacturer, ‘valcambi suisse’, is printed on this certificate.
