The Lunar I Series – a first for the Perth Mint

Although several mints now produce Lunar Series coins, the Perth Mint was the first to do so when it launched its Lunar I collection. The gold twelve-coin series began with the Year of the Mouse (1996) and ended with the Year of the Pig (2007). The reverse of each coin features one of the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac – the Year of the Goat is the eighth in the series.
