1 oz American Buffalo Gold Coin | 2024
The Obverse
Here you see the distinctly three-dimensional, striking profile portrait of a Native American with feather adornments and a braided hair. At the upper right edge, you read "LIBERTY," meaning "Freedom." This historical motif was created by the sculptor James Earle Fraser, who lived from 1876 to 1953. At the lower left, you see the year "2024" and below it an "F," indicating the creator of this portrait.
The Reverse
This side gives the coin its name and features a powerfully depicted North American bison, known as a "Buffalo" in English. Above this mighty animal is the inscription "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA." To the right below it is "E PLURIBUS UNUM," which means "Out of many, one," the motto of the United States, found in the official seal and emblem of the United States of America. To the left below is "IN GOD WE TRUST." At the bottom center, you see the face value "$50" and below it the inscriptions "1 OZ" and ".9999 FINE GOLD." The fine weight of this coin is 31.1035 grams.
